It is predicted that the temperature in Antalya will increase by 3.3 degrees in total and 5.6 degrees in the pessimistic table until 2100.
Bayram Ali, Antalya Branch President of the Chamber of Geological Engineers Paddy:
“In the modeling study carried out by the General Directorate of Water Management in the Antalya basin, we see that the temperature will increase by 3.3 degrees in the optimistic table and 5.6 degrees in the pessimistic table until 2100”
“This means that there will be a climate crisis. In the studies carried out, we can clearly say that the precipitation may be 27 percent less than today, adhering to climate change until the 2090s”
“These numbers mean crisis. In global studies, we can say that even 3 degrees, 5 degrees and 1-2 degrees turn into a crisis on people and living things in the region.”
” Korkuteli’s groundwater resources decreased by 70 percent in 50 years “
“If it goes on like this, we can say that we will not be able to find drinking water in Korkuteli, let alone use water for agricultural purposes”
ANTALYA – According to the data of the General Directorate of Water Management, Bayram Ali Çeltik, Head of the Antalya Branch of the Chamber of Geological Engineers, said that the temperature in the city will increase by 3.3 degrees in the optimistic table and 5.6 degrees in the pessimistic table until the next 2100. Noting that this will cause a climate crisis, Çeltik said,
“We can clearly say that by adhering to climate change until the 2090s, the precipitation may decrease by 27 percent compared to today”. At the same time, Çeltik stated that water resources in Antalya’s agricultural district Korkuteli decreased by 70 percent in 50 years and said, “If it goes like this, we will not find water for agricultural purposes, let alone use water for agricultural purposes in Korkuteli.”
Bayram Ali Çeltik, Head of the Chamber of Geological Engineers Antalya Branch, made a statement regarding the underground water resources, temperature and precipitation regime of the city.
Çeltik, who shared the charts of the Korkuteli Sub-Basin Rasat Wells, noted in the studies and observations that there was a serious decrease in the drilling data between 1970 and 2020.
Çeltik said, “We can say that this figure has reached approximately 70 percent. The reason for the decrease is the wrong agricultural policies. We can see that there are hundreds of illegal drilling, water is used unconsciously and wild irrigation is done in the studies. We can say that we can not find” he said.
Considering the retrospective studies and predictions, President Çeltik stated that Korkuteli will be consuming a rapid consumption of water resources within 20 years and emphasized that studies should be carried out on this subject.
